Achatina achatina is considered in the USA. As a dangerous invasive species, which can become a serious plague because of its ability to destroy the environment and its rapid reproduction. The gastropod mollusc, which can reach 30x15 centimeters in size in its shell, has become the companion animal of many Americans.
"Please, my rabbit. Is very sick". That was the fun comment that Madds, a Twitter user, added to the photo you can see on these lines. The truth is that the imposing mollusk has some other feature of rabbit, mainly the size. The angle from which the image was taken also makes it look like it has ears, mustaches and legs. But it is nothing more than a magnificent specimen of Achatina fulica, an animal of African origin but present in many other places of the world today.
